stopped working but otherwise everything seems to be fine, just can`t be bothered to have it fixed which is why the low price. Mechanicaly she is in very good condition with no sign of any corrosion to the body work. There is the odd scuff on the paintwork but just what you would expect from being in a car park. This car is 9 years old so dont expect a perfect car. I have been happy with her and she does around around 30 mpg around town and about 45 mpg on a run. I have had over 53 MPG on 1 run but thats doing mostly 50 MPH which seems best for fuel. Seats have no rips or broken stitches seen. Has electirc seats for all direction movement, loads of leg room and has a massive boots. Has 3 new tires around 5000 miles since good spare. Sold as seen with no garrantee given or implied. Service history up to the last few years . Since I got the car have doen the service myself which ius not difficult only problem I have had is not being able to reset teh service light internealy but have changed all the oils and filteres every year or 12,000 miles. The plan was to buy a small boat but I`ve not got around to it. The Tow bar is fitted using a bespoke Citroen wiring loom, so links with parking sensors, ASR etc...The 2.2 petrol averages 27mpg on our trips and makes financial sense if you are not planning on doing big mileagesCondition:Mechanically no faults to report, engine, gearbox, steering, air conditioning etc all work as they should. Cosmetically this is in equally excellent condition inside and out. The interior is near perfect with no tears, stains or breakages. The seats and dashboard look fanatic, the suede finish makes for a very comfortable family wagon. There are only three of us, so we seldom use all the seats (in fact the rear two have been in storage for years), with these removed the boot space is vast, having at least a cubic meter of space, it makes a great vehicle for camping trips and holidays and is the main reason why I`ve kept it so long. Outside the paint work is bright and very clean and it is a smart looking vehicle.The bad bits, and I`m being picky, there is a parking ding on each front door. A stone chip on the bonnet. One of the alloys (pictured) is scuffed on the outer edge. Inside, there are a few marks on the backs of the seats (the plastic trays on the seat backs are quite soft and scratch easily), the drivers seat seat squab cushion has lost it`s shape a little. The parking sensors fail intermittently (suspect corrosion in one or more of the sensors) and I`ve lost a cover to one of the headlamp washers.The tires are all good, the fronts are very new and have c6-7mm of tread at least and the rears c4-5mmOther items replaced recently...wiper blades, front discs and pads, battery, coil springs (one was noticed to be cracked at the previous MOT, so had all replaced as a precaution). work is perfect. Alloys are unmarked and all tyres are very new with loads of tread. Car has done 124500 miles. But do not be deceived be its slightly high miles. It drives very well, everything feels tight and solid with no knocks, bangs or strange noises coming from suspension, steering or engine. The infamous 110 Hdi engines can go on forever with little sign of wear. They are one of the most reliable, robust engines ever made by mankind. I test drove 2 other lower mileage VTR Hdi`s, one having only done 75000, and this Xsara, accelerated, stopped and generally drove better than both. This car has a full service history, with 11 stamps in the book. Cambelt, water pump and aux belts changed at 9th service- 113360 miles. Plus front discs- pads and fuel-cabin filters. Last seviced at 123930 miles in Feb 2012. I brought this car from a Citroen enthusiast who also owned a Citroen repairs garage in Devon. The Xsara VTR Hdi is a rare, underated sports diesel hot hatch. It shares exactly the same chassis spec and underpinnings as the also underated 167 b.h.p petrol Xsara VTS. (I used to own a VTS). Citroen have worked wonders to engineer suspension-damper settings that provide a great balance between comfortable ride quality, and solid cornering, handling ability, with minimal body roll. Passive rear wheel steering to adds to the cars handling prowess, giving it an almost telepathic ability to go around corners. It really is a wolf in sheeps clothing. On bumpy, testing country B-roads, these Xsaras can keep up with some seriously expensive, high performance cars. Without the drawback of overstiff, bone shattering suspension. And in this diesel Hdi version, a very sensible engine as opposed to an expensive to run petrol engine. In this current climate of overcrowded roads, soaring fuel, insurance and road tax costs, this sort of car makes perfect sense. .. Although the Hdi engine may lack the overall grunt of the petrol VTS, it still produces enough power to make it entertaining, and in the real world, actually feels quicker. There is a mass of torque surge(185 ft lb) on tap in any gear, at any speed. No need for frantic gear changes or max revs to get the best out of it. But this cars party piece is its fantastic fuel consumption. I keep on thinking the fuel gauge has broken as it does not seem to move. The balance between power and fuel consumption is brilliant. I did a 400 mile motorway trip on less than £40, cruising at 55-65 m.p.h. About £18 each way(195 miles). Thats 67-70 m.p.g. Even at a hasty 75-85 m.p.h this car still does 60 m.p.g. It is a 1972 Citroen D Super5, Left hand Drive, Manual, finished in Blue with Tan Cloth Interior. The car has a long MOT and has just had £800 spent on it although it is cosmetically scruffy. The Interior of the car is in Tan cloth and is OK although it would benefit from a thorough clean and spruce up. The instruments work as they should and it has a good CD stereo fitted. The steering wheel has gone a bit strange and would benefit from replacement! The exterior is quite nice from a distance but quite rusty close up! The colours are very nice and the wheels and tyres are good.
