a good little runner. However there are a few little problems with it. Firstly there are a few dents and scratches as shown in the pictures the large dent is on the passengers side and the little one is on the drivers side. Also the roof it was an electric soft top how ever the framing broke. i have had the roof priced and they said it would roughly cost about £75 to fix. The interior is very clean and tidy, with fitted rear multi-coloured seat belts, a yellow gear stick knob and a sun roof. There is a CD player is fitted and comes with very good speakers, see picture. PLenty of boot space, which is always handy. This would be a fantastic car for a learner driver, or someones first car, as it is cheap on Tax and Insurance. Tax has not long ran out, only in July, and MOT runs out in Feb 2011. at my feedback and trust my judgement!! I would rather you saw it though, please don`t come and tyre kick or haggle!! If you have any questions, or want to view it, please do so before the auction ends. I have had this car for over two years, and it is really, really reliable! It`s never let me down, never not started, doesn`t use oil or water and is generally a very good runaround. Sailed through two MOT`s with no warnings (except tyres which have - in the last two weeks had new ones). Even when the temperature on the gauge showed minus -11 in the snow we had, it started, first time. Absolutely brilliant. It needs a few bits a pieces, which I haven`t ever bothered to do and have needed doing since I bought the car and I have just `worked around`. Car seats are all OK, not pristine, but clean and not torn, and not showing too much wear really. Carpets are all good condition, and clean up well. (Car will be valated before sale). All in all, a good car I think - no oil painting but you don`t have to feel too embarrased getting out of it!!! As far as I know there is nothing major wrong with it apart from what I have put in the listing. BUT - I am NOT a mechanic - I am only going on how the car drives on a daily basis for me - please please don`t take this as a warranty - I`m not a mechanic, I am just describing it as I know and drive it, and it all seems OK to me. A bit of TLC wouldn`t go amiss..!! It`s a boy thing I think...or is that too sexist!! Good Bits: I had a full service done on it last year - and I have the paperwork for that (£150). Tyres are all good, and two are new. Starts first time, every time. Uses no oil or water. Runs brilliantly, went to Scotland recently and it didn`t miss a beat, nice and quiet, and runs smoothly. Economical for its size - does a good 25 round town, 35/40 on a long run. Nice and light to drive, and the gearbox feels nice to use - it a nice easy car to drive, and very comfortable. Seats come out at the flick of a button, making a big roomy car. Or they just fold down - right down to make a big boot. Three full seatbelts in the back, not just a lap belt in the middle. CD Player works well and sounds OK, and all the buttons that run the music on the steering wheel work - you can turn it off, down, change channels etc, all from the steering wheel. Bad Bits: The remote control on the key fob - needs attention - it WORKS, but the casing has broken and needs a new one, and I`m not brave enough to take it apart incase I break it completely, I just use a finger nail and it works. Central locking works just from the key as well. The back passenger door needs replacing - it is damaged - don`t know what happened to it in a previous life - it was like it when I bought it - it has no accident damage on the insurance record, just the door looks like it has been opened onto something and then `pulled out` or something (Its not rusty and it locks fine, just lets the look of the car down). I have priced one on ebay - for about £80 - they just slot on and away you go. Paintwork isn`t too shabby, no rust, couple of dints (photographed). I live in the middle of nowhere, on little country lanes, and there are some superficial scratch marks where inevitably I have had to go close to hedges to let cars past. Not deep scratches, just being critical. My son in law says they would T-Cut out??? Air condition isn`t as cold as it could be - it was freezing last year, but this summer it wasn`t as cold - it works, but could do with `recharging`??? I need to upload some photos - which I will do tomorrow in daylight. sadly I`m set to lose some of my storage space so it has to go, and the little it makes will help fund other classic Citroens that need work. It will need a new chassis, sills, windscreen surround/bonnet hinge and rear panel at the very least. The front floors have been welded in the distant past and look possibly solid, but who knows what`s covered up by the thick goo and paint covering it all, so it`s best to think in terms of new lower bulkhead/toeboard and floors (front sections at least - rear/mid areas look surprisingly good, as does the boot floor and quite a few other places where 2CVs usually rust terribly). Driver`s door and opposite rear door are surprisingly good; the other two will need replacing unless you`re brave or skilled. I didn`t look closely at the wings, I know there`s a rusted area on one front wing; the other three may be better. Inside, the interior is in reasonable shape (it has the more up-market Club instrument panel and door trims etc) except for the seats, although they have been covered for a very long time and might just be OK underneath with a really thorough clean (but assume not). The car was well maintained and reportedly a fantastic drive, a quick one, when it was last used, and had made many trips to southern Europe. There will be numerous mechanical jobs to re-fettle it for the road but they should be relatively easy aside from the structural and cosmetic work. 33,000km on the clock (from memory; but I`m not where the car is, as I write) which probably means 133,000km or 83,000 miles, although mileage is pretty irrelevant with 2CVs. Bizarre but totally irrelevant/unimportant fact - an infamous local 2CV specialist of years ago, long since gone, filled this car`s chassis with concrete. No kidding. He thought this was a solution for the rot and collapse that nearly all original late 2CV chassis succumb to. He went through what must have been an (ahem) "experimental" period of tilting the cars nose-down and pouring special concrete in. Needless to say this was somewhat misguided, to say the least! Just a piece of baffling and stunningly mad history. The car doesn`t seem unduly heavy and I don`t think dismantling will prove any more complicated than usual (I`ve replaces chassis on several 2CVs and a Dyane in the past). I have a wealth of second-hand 2CV parts (but please note, no decent panels spare) so if the buyer wants anything extra they`re welcome at minimal cost. The car was associated with, but I stress not directly in any way, with a high-profile incident many years ago. If you`re of a squeamish disposition you won`t want to know, but the previous owner was very relaxed and informative about this and it does lend the car some intrigue. The car is located about 3 miles from Wingham, Kent (between Canterbury and Sandwich). Viewing is strongly recommended - if you win the auction you have bought the car as-seen and must pay; simple as that; UNLESS YOU AGREE TO THIS PLEASE DO NOT BID. who travelled around europe in it picking up some minor scrapes en route! I then bought it back off her recently as a run around until the clutch went recently.It`s still got time left until the next MOT is due ( I will double check how long is left ) but the tax ran out in May and it is currently SORN.Apart from a new clutch it is still roadworthy but is a bit of a dog in terms of appearance. It has several scrapes and dents from learner driving.Perfect for some body who wants a cheap run-around and is not bothered about the bruised panel work with a bit of money to replace the clutch!Good points:- newish battery- good tyres- cheap to run- mechanically sound Bad points- clutch needs replacing- crunch to nearside rear wheel arch (will pass MOT as no metal protruding)- dents and scrapes on body work (all photographed)- mirrors need replacing (held on with tape!)- burn mark in passenger seatWith a new clutch, mirrors and maybe a good T-cut for good measure it will be good to go.If you need it for spares then by all means have it.Reserve is set at £80 (the cost to scrap the vehicle) but I would value it at at least double that! X
